Mental health awareness through storytelling & community dialogue

Monthly Spotlight!

A CBK Session That Truly Connected!

Students, Parents & Experts Came Together to Talk Digital Overload and Mental Wellness

“We often see the stress and anxiety among students and families in the Asian community, but haven’t known how to address it in a culturally sensitive way. That’s why partnering with RCOZ is so exciting—they bring the empathy and tools we’ve been missing.” – Joe Stoner, Manager, Newark Library

Are we more connected than ever or just more distracted?

That’s the question we explored at Chalo Baatein Karen™ (‘Let’s Just Talk’), organized by our 2025 High School Changemakers on June 29th. Dr. Seema Sehgal, MD and Dr. Hari Nair, MD dove deep into what digital overstimulation is doing to our attention, emotions, and ability to connect.

“It’s not about misuse—kids are using it as designed. Our role as parents and mentors is to help them build self-awareness and resilience, not just impose restrictions.” - Dr Hari Nair

To Our 2025 Changemakers—We See You, We Celebrate You!

Sunday’s Chalo Baatein Karen marked both a powerful event and your graduation. After weeks of reflection and honest dialogue, you showed up with clarity, care, and courage. You didn’t just speak about change—you became it.

“Rcoz said what we, as parents, couldn’t find the words for.”  – Shweta Sejpal, HSCM parent

Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to Mayor Raj Salwan and the Newark Library for your support. Hear directly from the youth at rcoz.us/blogRead about our event in Tri-City Voice.
