Rcoz Launches Peer-Led South Asian Women’s Support Group to Tackle Mental Health Stigma

Fremont, CA – [09/23/2025]Rcoz, a Bay Area nonprofit raising awareness of mental health in South Asian communities, launched its South Asian Women’s Support Group in August 2025. The group meets on the first Thursday of every month and offers a welcoming space for women to talk, connect, and feel less alone.

Storytelling is central to the sessions. Hearing another woman put words to an unspoken struggle creates connection and relief. Each story helps normalize mental health conversations in a community where the subject is often considered taboo, building resilience and opening the door to early help-seeking.

No diagnosis or therapy background is required. Women are welcome regardless of what they’re facing—whether dealing with family pressure, workplace stress, identity struggles, or simply needing someone to listen.

Each gathering is peer-led and grounded in shared understanding, so participants leave with practical support and a renewed sense of belonging. As one attendee shared, “I’ve been searching for a support group specifically for Desis. This is a dream come true.”

“Indian women here face unique pressures that mainstream resources often miss,” said Roopali Rajvanshy, Founder of Rcoz. “Our group breaks through the log kya kahenge mentality, giving women the vocabulary to talk about mental health and seek help before reaching a crisis point.”
