Introduction

Welcome to the Student Ambassador Program – We are thrilled to invite you to apply to a new initiative about how mental health is perceived in your college/university campus, especially for marginalized and underserved student populations. Our program empowers you to become a compassionate leader, driving positive change and fostering an environment of understanding and support for mental well-being. Let’s work towards a campus where we can collaborate to normalize the discussion of mental health issues.

Eligibility Requirements?

  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at an accredited university or community college.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who represent an underserved area on campus.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Submission of an online application
  • Prior leadership experience is beneficial but not mandatory

What are you expected to do?

As a Student Ambassador in our program, you will be vital in promoting mental health awareness and fostering a supportive campus community. Here’s what you can expect to do:

  1. Advocate Mental Health Awareness: Be a vocal advocate for mental health on your campus, promoting open discussions and reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues.
  2. Organize Events and Campaigns: Plan and execute events, workshops, and awareness campaigns to educate and engage students in mental health-related topics.
  3. Collaborate with Campus Resources: Work with counseling services, student organizations, and faculty to create a united front addressing mental health concerns.
  4. Share Stories: Share your own experiences or stories about mental health and encourage others to come forward and share their stories, thereby fostering a culture of openness and empathy. (Bring a Minimum 5 stories and write 2 Blogs around mental health awareness)
  5. Social Media Engagement: Utilize Rcoz social media platforms to spread awareness, share informative content, and encourage meaningful discussions.
  6. Networking and Partnerships: Forge connections with like-minded individuals, mental health organizations, and community partners to expand the program’s impact.
  7. Attend Training and Workshops: Participate in training sessions and workshops that enhance your leadership, communication, and advocacy skills.
  8. Lead by Example: Embody the values of compassion, empathy, and understanding, serving as a role model for your peers and inspiring positive change.

By actively engaging in these responsibilities, you will make a significant difference in raising mental health awareness and creating a supportive environment that empowers minds and breaks the silence surrounding mental health challenges.
